Introducing Sam McClelland:
Instrumental guitar and music classroom teacher. |
Combining my love of teaching and music I am in my element. With 16 years of intense guitar training and six years of tertiary music studies and a recent classroom teaching position at Eltham College, I am currently involved in the music industry as a qualified teacher and performer. I perform advanced jazz, classical, contemporary pop and fusion original pieces as a solo guitarist and therefore cater to student¹s diverse musical pathways. Some students progress through the ANZCA method for contemporary guitar styles while others choose the classical AMEB approach. For student¹s who wish to take a different path, I offer scaffold right hand finger picking studies, strumming pattern exercises, a malleable song writing course, theory training and more. My teaching style reflects my empathetic, friendly and humorous nature. When I teach I feel as if I am answering what I like to think of as a calling. With a Graduate Diploma of Education, in schools, I thrive on working with professionals who hold pure intentions and light pathways for their student¹s futures. I have developed unique and engaging lessons and aim to foster a lifelong involvement with music. I believe that my professional knowledge and skills together with my personal qualities and intentions make me an ideal candidate for classroom music teaching and instrumental guitar teaching. I teach privately in my two studios, Saturdays in Kew and all other days in St Andrews (Nillumbik area)
